December 2017 and January 2018
Once again we had a very successful Autumn Fair with more people buying from the stalls and staying for refreshments. It was an enjoyable day and £724 has been raised for Church funds. (Our best ever total). Thanks go to everyone who supported us, helped in any way and to those who kindly sent donations.

The Penny Boxes to date have raised £660 and once again we are very grateful to those people who save their small change throughout the year to raise this amount.

Add these two totals together and we have just about got enough to pay the electrician's invoice! The inspection discovered several things that needed doing and these have now been carried out.

The Christmas Buffet on Wednesday December 6th is £3.50 and please add your name to the list if you intend to be there (for catering purposes)

We look forward to Friday December 8th when the children from Greengate School will sing Christmas songs and carols for us at 10.30am. Do come along and, as we will hold the Coffee morning in the Church on this day, there will be plenty of room for friends and neighbours too.

Remember that our Carol Service will be held slightly earlier this year on Sunday December 17th at 2.30pm. A Christmas tea will be served after the service and everyone is invited to stay. The offering will be for Christian Aid.

........And in the New Year we have an organ recital planned for Friday February 16th at 2.30pm followed by afternoon tea. Ian Wardlaw was the organist for the New Abbey Singers and has offered to play for us.

November 2017
Donations at the Coffee morning on September 29th amounted to £100 and this has been sent to Macmillan Cancer Support.

We have now completed the series of sermons based on the lesser known parables. We are grateful to all the lay people and Ministers who took these parables and gave us fresh ways of looking at them.

On Wednesday October 18th our Midweek service and afternoon tea was led by Ann Hufton and we were pleased that ladies from St George's and Sacred Heart were able to join us. We all appreciated Ann's service.

Please remember that there will not be a Church lunch on Wednesday November 1st but there will be light lunches served at our Autumn Fair on Saturday November 4th. The stalls will be open from 10am until 1pm and we hope everyone will be able to come along and help us raise a good sum of money. (Remember we are going to need around £2000 for the essential electrical work we are having done.) Please invite your family and friends to come along too.

The Church lunch on Wednesday December 6th will be a Christmas buffet – please sign up if you intend to be there (for catering purposes)
